What is the Secret Place in Psalm 91?
If you were wondering what is the Secret Place of the Most High in Psalm 91, you are not alone. Many have asked this since the Bible was written. In this short, but very powerful exposition, Pastor Archie Aseme, one of the Executive members of Christ Embassy or Pastor Chris Oyakhilome explains exactly what the Secret Place of the Most High is. He explains that the Secret Place in Psalm 91 is actually Christ. It is your place IN Christ! Hallelujah! He says your confession what you say with your mouth is very important. You are saved by your confession.
What is "the Secret place of the Most High" mentioned in Psalm 91:1?
In the video attached to this article, Pastor Archie teaches: Psalm 91 from verse one: I will read from the Amplified (Bible) okay: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the Shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]”. Hallelujah!
What a wonderful verse: “He who dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High…” Now the “Secret Place of the most High” is Christ. That’s the Secret Place of the Most High! In Colossians chapter 3 and verse 3 the Bible says “for ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Hallelujah! Maximum security!
So for anything to harm you, that will have to pass through God, then pass through Christ, before it can reach you. However, there’s nothing that can successfully pass through God and pass through Christ to touch you! I dwell in safety! Yeah, you dwell in safety! You are in safety. God says you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God, the Secret Place of the Most High. Christ, that’s where you are, hallelujah. (Christ is the Secret Place of the Most High).
So, “He who dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High” shall remain stable; no falling, no shaking and fixed under the Shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]”.
To enjoy the benefits of "The Secret Place of the Most High", you need to make the right confessions
Psalm 91 Verse 2 says: “I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!” Alleluia! Now look at that, there is a confession here, there is a testimony here. He says: “I will say of the Lord”, the one who dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High says something. What does he say? He says: “I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge. The Lord is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God for on Him I lean and rely and in Him I confidently trust. God is my Refuge. God is my Fortress… I dwell in safety.”
See, this one will say something: “I will say….” Your confession is important and you’ve got to speak words that are consistent with God’s truth for your life. It doesn’t matter what you have heard or seen happening in the world. Don’t say “nobody’s safe”. No, I will say: “the Lord is my Refuge and my Fortress. I dwell in safety.” Are you listening to this? Your confession is very important. What you say is very important. When you hear or see that something bad that has happened to some people, your confession is what you must be careful with, what you say with your mouth.
Don’t talk like the unlearned. Don’t spread that thing with your mouth. Rather say: “the Lord is my Refuge and my Fortress, hallelujah. I dwell in safety.”
Psalm 91 verse 3, he says: it is “For [then] He will deliver you…” He says when you make the right confessions, He will deliver you “from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.” Did you see that? “Deadly pestilence” – that refers to a deadly plague, a deadly epidemic something that has killed many people, or is killing a lot of people. He says your confession is important: “I will say the Lord is my Refuge and my Fortress.” You need to say with your mouth: I’m protected on every side. No harm shall befall me and He says because of your right confession, he says in Psalm verse 3: “then He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence”. So keeping your confessions will deliver you from your destruction.
Watch your confessions. Don’t say the wrong thing. Don’t use your mouth to spread it and don’t use your mouth to contact it. “The Lord is my Refuge and my Fortress, I dwell in safety, no harm shall befall me.”
The benefits of having the right confessions and dwelling in the Secret Place of the Most High
There are benefits from having the right confessions and dwelling in the Secret Place of the Most High: Psalm 91 Verse 4: “[Then] He will cover you with His pinions and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge. His truth and His faithfulness is shield and buckler” Hallelujah.
Do you know what a shield is? It’s a protection, an armour, a defence. A buckler is a latch, like when you buckle up your shoes. So you are locked in there, and nothing will remove you from the Lord’s Secret Place. Glory to God!
